About Unorthodox Leadership Foundation

Who We Are

Unorthodox Leadership Foundation exists to strengthen nonprofit and community based leadership by investing in the people who carry the mission forward.

We serve leaders who operate at the intersection of purpose and pressure. Leaders who are responsible for people, programs, and outcomes while navigating limited resources, complex systems, and increasing expectations. Our work is rooted in the belief that when leaders are equipped, supported, and seen, organizations become more resilient and communities are better served.

We believe leadership development should be accessible, relevant, and responsive to the realities nonprofit leaders face every day.

Who We Serve

We serve nonprofit professionals, community leaders, educators, and emerging leaders who are committed to service and impact. Our programs are designed for those who are often under resourced yet deeply invested in the work of strengthening organizations and communities.

Our Purpose

The Foundation was established to advance leadership development that is practical, ethical, and grounded in real world application. We focus on building leadership capacity in nonprofit and community centered environments where impact is measured not by profit, but by lives changed.

What We Do

Unorthodox Leadership Foundation designs and delivers leadership development experiences that strengthen individuals and organizations across the nonprofit sector.

Our work includes:

• Leadership training and development programs
• Capacity building initiatives for nonprofit organizations
• Coaching and mentorship for emerging and established leaders
• Community centered learning spaces that encourage reflection, growth, and accountability

Each initiative is intentionally designed to move leaders from reaction to strategy, from burnout to sustainability, and from good intentions to measurable impact.

How We Approach Leadership

Our approach to leadership is grounded in practice, not theory alone.

We emphasize:

• Leadership that is values driven and people centered
• Decision making rooted in both data and humanity
• Systems thinking that addresses root causes, not symptoms
• Collaboration that strengthens teams and communities
• Accountability that supports growth and long term impact

Our Commitment

We recognize that nonprofit leadership requires both heart and discipline. Our work honors both.

Unorthodox Leadership Foundation is committed to developing leaders who are prepared for today’s challenges and intentional about tomorrow’s outcomes.

We invest in leadership that strengthens systems, protects people, and advances missions with integrity.

Because when nonprofit leaders are supported, the communities they serve are supported.

That is our work. That is our purpose.

Our Values

  People Centered Leadership

Leadership begins with respect for people. We value leadership that honors dignity, builds trust, and supports those carrying responsibility for others.

Purpose With Discipline

Passion must be matched with strategy. We value leadership that aligns mission with action and vision with execution.

Equity and Access

Leadership development should be accessible. We are committed to expanding access for leaders who are often under resourced yet deeply committed to impact.

Integrity

We value transparency, ethical decision making, and consistency in action, especially when leadership is difficult.

Practice Based Learning

Leadership is strengthened through experience and reflection. We value learning that is practical, relevant, and grounded in real world challenges.

Stewardship

Leadership is a responsibility to people, mission, and community. We value sustainability, accountability, and long term impact.
